In December 2011, Wind Mobile SA completed an agreement with the Orange mobile network operator on the delivery of an MRF (Media Resource Function) module, which is an element of the IMS architecture.
IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a new generation network architecture which provides an attractive opportunity for creating new multimedia services faster and more cost-effectively in comparison with the traditional attitude. I am glad that we have been honored by Orange with the task of delivering the MRF module which will be the foundation for further innovative services,- says Kamil Nagrodzki, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Wind Mobile.
Wind Mobile offers a wide range of mobile operator platforms which enable the implementation of innovative value-added services (VAS) in the IMS new generation network architecture. These include ringback tones, voicemail, audio conferences, call completion and presence solutions.
So far we have cooperated with Orange in the area of mobile entertainment. On the one hand, the new contract extends the cooperation with our customer to the area of mobile infrastructure; on the other hand, it provides us with unique experience in the IMS area which we will use in future implementations. Therefore, I expect our investment in the IMS competencies, supported by the experience we will gain, to become a source of significant new business potential for years to come – adds Igor Bokun, Wind Mobile CEO.
