Ailleron SA is introducing iLumio, its innovative interactive guest service system, to yet another European market with a strong hospitality industry. The Greek Simply Data is the newest partner of the company, and it will be responsible for the sales and promotion of iLumio solutions in Cyprus.
We believe that our cooperation with Simply Data will be fruitful and beneficial for both parties. Simply Data has been very active on the Greek market since 2004 and currently serves more than 500 clients from the hotel industry, providing a wide range of telecommunication services. Thanks to iLumio, our Greek partner will be able to expand its portfolio, which will enable it to offer a full range of digital guest services – says Grzegorz Młynarczyk, Vice President of Ailleron SA.
For years, the tourist industry has been one of the strongest and most stable sectors in this country. According to the Greek Hospitality Report of 2015, the Greek tourism sector is in very good condition and has recorded solid and continuous growth. In 2014, Greece recorded an increase in the number of tourists compared to the previous year, up by 20.7%, and tourism revenues increased by 10,2%. 2015 was even more beneficial for the Greeks. In total, last year, Greece was visited by 23.8 million tourists who spent 13.6 billion euros. The number of people landing at Athens International Airport has increased by almost 23% in 2015 compared to 2014.
The constant development of Greek tourism sector is not surprising, as investors, seeing the potential of the market, are very eager to open new facilities there. Currently, a many 4- and 5-star hotels are being built, which gives us many opportunities in this region. We are very glad that the hotel industry has already noticed the potential of modern hotel systems, as this is allowing us to successfully expand into further markets. Our latest product, iLumio Mobile Concierge, is currently enjoying the most interest among Greek hoteliers. This mobile application allows travelers to contact the hotel directly, enables mobile check-in and check-out, allows the client to browse the hotel offer, order services and make dinner reservations. One of the biggest hits, particularly in the Greek islands is the possibility to book a sunbed by the pool via smartphone. Anyone who likes to sleep longer on vacation does not have to get up at the crack of dawn to “reserve” a sunbed with a towel the application will do it for you! adds Justyna Michalczyk, Managing Director at iLumio.
According to GBR Tourism Consulting, Greece will see another 2%-5% increase in its number of tourists in 2016. Optimism is also visible among the hoteliers themselves — about 6 out of 10 hotel owners predicts an improvement of at least 2% in occupancy level. New investments and growing number of tourists can contribute to even better results in this sector by the end of this year.
