Wind Mobile, the leading provider of telecommunication platforms for mobile operators, is planning to have its initial offering on the NewConnect trading floor by the end of July.
The company has a strong market position as a mobile infrastructure solution provider, being the exclusive supplier of ringback tones platforms to all mobile providers in Poland. Wind Mobile’s goal is to become the leader in two other market segments: mobile advertisement and mobile entertainment. The company also plans to expand its portfolio into markets abroad. Funds raised through a non-public offering to be made in the second quarter of 2011 will permit Wind Mobile to achieve these goals. The planned acquisition of ca. 3 million PLN will permit intensified development work on new platforms and increased activity in finding prospects outside Poland.
For 10 years now Wind Mobile has provided, in Poland and abroad, a wide range of telecommunication solution platforms for value-added services. The company also gives full support and consulting in the deployment of its solutions. Wind Mobile operates in three market areas: mobile infrastructure, mobile advertisement and mobile entertainment.
“Our business model is based on the synergy of three areas. The base of our business is provided by our solution platforms supplied to mobile operators. Through these platforms we are able to provide additional value added services. These services, in turn, are based on a shared revenue model with our partners,” says Igor Bokun Wind Mobile SA CEO. “Such a rich vertical offering is a solid base thanks to long-term contracts, but also is a strong incentive for dynamic growth, at the same time providing important entry barriers for our competitors,” explained Bokun.
The mobile infrastructure is the base of Wind Mobile business. It consists of telecommunication platforms providing such services as: ringback tones (the replacement of the 100-year old traditional ‘beep’ signal with any other sound, e.g., the latest hit music, funny sounds, or a characteristic company sound), notification about missed calls or handling the credit of a prepaid phone. The second area of concern for the company – mobile entertainment – is used daily by over 40 million mobile phone users, through SMS contests, lotteries etc. Mobile advertisement is Wind Mobile’s third area of expertise. It is based on their proprietary Halo Ads technology that transforms ringback tones into an innovative and versatile advertisement channel.
Wind Mobile is not only backed by a seasoned team of managers, but also by a set of experienced investors. The company counts Intel Capital among its shareholders (through Middlefield Ventures, a venture owned 100% by Intel Corporation), the largest technological investment fund in the world. It can pride itself on a portfolio of over a thousand investments. Wind Mobile also profits from the experience of a high-tech pioneer – Rafał Styczeń, who through his company IIF, owns nearly 59% of the company shares.
Wind Mobile’s strategy is to gain a leading position as a telecom solution provider and to initiate an expansion toward markets abroad. “Our solutions are taking advantage of indigenous technology and a highly passionate crew. This combination has proven itself many times as highly advantageous and more efficient in dealing with engineering problems than solutions provided by even the most renowned competitors,” said Bokun. “These are the advantages that we intend to use in our expansion abroad,” he added.
NOBLE Securities are Wind Mobile’s market animator. “This company has no competitors in Poland. Its products and services can only compete with foreign suppliers, and Wind Mobile is usually able to better them with advanced technology and an advantageous price,” said Norbert Kozioł, NOBLE Securities VP. “Those market advantages, in connection with price competition between operators and an increasing interest in value added services, place Wind Mobile in an advantageous position for the realisation of its strategy,” added Kozioł.
