Software Mind Outsourcing Services, part of Wind Mobile Group, has signed the five-year agreement with Wipro Ltd. for development of telecommunication systems and maintenance of T-Mobile Poland. This largest contract in the history of the company and strategic cooperation with one of the world’s IT leaders will double the sales of the Wind Mobile Group in the telecommunication market.
The cooperation of the Polish company with the NYSE-listed Wipro Ltd., which employs nearly 160,000 staff worldwide, covers the development and maintenance of over 40 strategic IT systems of T-Mobile Poland. The signed contract increases the involvement of Wind Mobile Group in T-Mobile Poland by over 400%, as to date, the company has carried out the development and maintenance of 10 telecommunications systems for the operator. Such a significant increase in the scale of the contract is caused partly by the operator centralising most of their IT platforms, but is primarily the result of confidence in the Group’s competences built through long-term collaboration.
Wartość kontraktu w perspektywie 5 lat szacowana jest na ok. 100 mln złotych.
The contract is estimated at approx. 100 million within next 5 years.
‘The tender for the outsourcing of the development of systems and maintenance for T-Mobile Poland was won by Wipro a few months ago. Wipro selected Wind Mobile as the Strategic Partner to deliver the Application Development and Maintenance Services for T-Mobile Poland. This partnership is beneficial to both parties, since Wind Mobile receives assured revenue for the next 5 years, and Wipro gains local knowledge and the expertise of Wind Mobile to augment their delivery capabilities in Poland. After a few months of negotiating the details of the contract, I am pleased that we can finally announce this fact. This is a very important agreement for our company, as it significantly increases the level of orders in the strategic telecommunication area, stabilises the backlog due to the constant and long-term nature of the agreement and positions the company among the trusted partners of T-Mobile and strategic providers for Wipro. The outsourcing of entire business domains is a significant trend among operators, as well as being Wind Mobile’s business model, in which the company takes the responsibility for the development and maintenance of systems in exchange for the long-term guarantee of revenue. This area is, of course, also an excellent source of financing for the development of the Group’s own products, as well as a source of competence so that the R&D and products which are its result will be perfectly attuned to industry expectations and trends. It is a significant step in the development of the company’s capital, which is related to the change of the trading floor and the new issue. The funds raised will be spent on acceleration of the international development of our business,’ states Rafał Styczeń, CEO, Wind Mobile Group.
