The innovative mobile banking platform developed by NAMU Systems, an American fintech startup employing Polish IT specialists, has won the title of “Top Innovation” at the Citi Mobile Challenge EMEA.

Being awarded one of the main prizes in the competition allows NAMU to establish a commercial partnership with Citi and, potentially, provide solutions to the bank’s customers worldwide. As one of the Citi Mobile Challenge EMEA finalists, NAMU presented its revolutionary product at a competition organized in April this year in Warsaw. The idea of “joyful banking” that NAMU promotes was noted and highly evaluated during that event.

The prize awarded by Citi is the second major industry award won by the NAMU platform this month. In May, the audience of the FinovateSpring 2015 conference in California’s Silicon Valley chose the solution as one of the best presented to the participants this year and awarded NAMU the “Best of Show” title.

Citi met with teams selected during the competition, which included the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, at meetings in London, Warsaw, Jerusalem and Nairobi. The international jury, composed of the bank’s executives and independent experts, assessed the presented mobile solutions based on technological and business criteria.

The Citi Mobile Challenge EMEA attracted over 740 teams from 101 countries. During four competition meetings, which took place this spring, the most diverse technological solutions were presented to us. Their creators have enormous potential to support changes taking place in the banking sector, which will in turn influence the development of other sectors of the economy. The possibility of working with these people is an exciting prospect for us, Heather Cox, a Citi executive, summed up.

Our solution addresses important needs of bank customers, which is what makes it an ideal tool for supporting Citi in building the position of a leading innovator among global retail banks. In the world of mobile technology, time moves very quickly, therefore we want to start tackling the tasks that lie ahead as soon as possible, said Thomas Ko, the president and co-founder of NAMU Systems.

We are honored and delighted to receive such a coveted prize. The NAMU team are the best specialists in the field of mobile technologies. We look forward to working with Citi, which will allow us to use of the full potential of our platform and achieve commercial success together, said Piotr Budziński, CEO and co-founder of NAMU, as well as the director of the IT specialist team.
