What determines the success of entrepreneurs and the companies they have created? Courage and passion, flexibility and understanding of business trends, sensitivity and a sense of mission. All finalists of the international EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition share these traits. This year, one of them is Rafal Styczeń, founder and CEO of the Ailleron Group, who is also privately an explorer as a pilot, climber, and Himalayan mountaineer.

In such a dynamic world, an organizational culture that represents the founder’s personality is equally important as financial results for the sustainability and growth of a company. Our mission is to make financial experiences easy and enjoyable for everyone. It’s a mission that hundreds of creative Ailleron employees have come to believe in. The CEO’s sensitivity to business needs and the social environment, among other things, has helped us carry out this mission.

The Jury of the international EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition also noted Rafał Styczeń’s personality and inspiring career development. The Jury is composed of authorities from the Polish business world and winners of previous editions, who independently and transparently select the new leaders. Each year, more than a hundred employees of EY, a global leader in the professional services market with more than 700 offices and 300,000 professionals in 150 countries, meet with the nominated founders, owners and CEOs to provide the Jury with proven facts. This year, the best Polish entrepreneur will be selected by a Jury consisting of Ewald Raben, Rafal Brzoska, Pawel Jarski, Jerzy Kozminski, Piotr Krupa, Adam Krzanowski, Krzysztof Pawinski, Artur Rytel, Jacek Siwicki, Barbara Soltysinska and Kinga Stanislawska. This popular competition was organized for the 21st time, and this year’s Jury will choose from among 12 skillful and courageous entrepreneurs.

The businesses of entrepreneurs nominated this year run across a different range of scales and areas of operations. Among the nominees are co-founders and CEOs of start-ups, mature companies with long traditions, and listed companies such as Ailleron. The selection includes companies from IT, the “green” energy market, as well as initiatives in the well-being and education sectors. The 9 companies are competing in 3 categories: ” New Technologies/ Innovation”, in which Rafal Styczeń was nominated, ” Production and Services” and ” New Business”.

This year’s selection of the awardees and the winner of the entire Polish edition will be difficult, as each candidate and nominee has a fascinating story behind them and an exciting business model – says Marek Jarocki, auditor of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Specific profiles of the finalists and descriptions of the companies can be found on the contest organizer’s website (in polish).

An independent Jury will select the best entrepreneur based on 6 criteria: entrepreneurship, financial performance, strategy, international activities, relations with employees and the environment, and new technologies. For Rafał Styczeń, this is a very nice distinction, especially since all the competition’s finalists share the pursuit of goals implementation and a bold vision of development, which are so essential to him in terms of self-development.

Another point distinguishing outstanding entrepreneurs, including Rafał Styczeń, is respect among his employees, commitment to the company, and the ability to convince them of his vision. We encourage you to watch Rafał Styczeń’s spontaneous speech on the big wave of AI at the inaugural edition of the Ailleron Innovation Forum. Moreover, our CEO gets the greatest satisfaction from the development and highest usability of the created technological solutions as well as from charity work.

The winners in the categories “Manufacturing and Services”, “New Business”, “New Technologies/Innovation” and the winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 title will be announced at the Final Gala, which will be held on March 1, 2024. Poland’s Best Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 will also represent our country at the international finals, where they will face the winners of local editions of the competition from about 60 countries. The World Entrepreneur of the Year gala is planned for June 2024 in Monte Carlo.

As #AilleronExperts, we will be watching with great sympathy the EY competition, which inspires entrepreneurs worldwide and contributes to developing an organizational culture that responds to the modern challenges of the digital world. We are keeping our fingers crossed for all the finalists, in line with one of our CEO’s principles that success and knowledge should be shared every day.
