Ailleron Joins Business Accessibility Forum (BAF)
October 14, 2026

Ailleron has joined the Business Accessibility Forum (BAF), a European platform that brings together companies and organizations committed to creating more accessible products and services and responding more effectively to different user groups' needs. The Forum also supports businesses in preparing to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
At the heart of BAF is the belief that digital accessibility is a human right – everyone should be able to access resources, services, and technology freely and without barriers. That’s why the Forum creates a space for companies to share knowledge and experience, learn from one another, and work together to develop the best accessibility practices. It means that BAF helps businesses better reflect the principles of the UN Convention and design solutions that consider the needs of the broadest possible range of users.

BAF brings together organizations and companies committed to developing technologies and services that are accessible and user-friendly for everyone. Its founding members include Widzialni Foundation, Allegro.pl, Microsoft, Orange Polska, and Erste Bank. With members from the social, technology, telecommunications, e-commerce, and financial sectors, BAF brings together diverse experience and perspectives on accessibility.

We’re very pleased about the prospect of continuing our collaboration with the Business Accessibility Forum, as accessibility has always been treated at Ailleron as a key element of product design, rather than a final-stage check of an application’s functionality. The earlier we take all users’ needs into account in the design process, the better the experience we can create for everyone. It’s precisely the direction we want to pursue together with BAF.

The initiative goes far beyond education. BAF members actively engage in dialogue with public authorities and participate in consultations on accessibility-related regulations. One key area of cooperation has been developing a shared business perspective on implementing Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council into Polish law, the European Accessibility Act mentioned above. At the same time, the Forum promotes a practical approach to digital accessibility standards and shows how accessibility principles translate into everyday business practices.

Joining the Business Accessibility Forum is a natural step for Ailleron toward creating digital products that can be used by almost everyone. Accessibility affects all of us – both people with permanent disabilities and those who experience temporary or situational limitations. In practice, this means creating a better experience for all users. We bring to BAF valuable expertise in designing and implementing digital financial services, and as part of this community, we look forward to an open exchange of experiences and fresh inspiration. We are confident that this will help make the products we deliver in future projects even more accessible, intuitive, and inclusive for all user groups.

We began our cooperation with Business Accessibility Forum while putting together the content program for Ailleron Innovation Forum. Przemysław Marcinkowski, Chairman of the Board of Fundacja Widzialni, CTO, and accessibility expert, accepted our invitation to join this year’s speakers. In his presentation, “New interfaces, old mistakes. How to build accessibility in from the start?”, he brought a strong accessibility perspective to the event and highlighted good practices in inclusive design.
One of the key messages from his keynote was that accessibility shouldn’t be treated as the final stage of product review or as an add-on introduced at the end of a project. Accessibility should be built in from the start and remain part of the entire process of designing and developing digital services. It also requires an organizational shift; responsibility doesn’t stop with UX, UI, development, or testing teams. It also extends to procurement processes, supplier requirements, employee training, and how design systems are built and developed.
Przemysław Marcinkowski also pointed out how broadly we should understand user needs today. Barriers to using digital products don’t affect only people with permanent disabilities. They can also be temporary or situational – depending on where we are, the device we’re using, or our current condition. It’s an important reminder that there’s no single interface that works equally well for every user in every situation.
That’s why it’s so important to design experiences that give users a choice and allow them to move seamlessly between channels without losing information or context. Accessibility should be treated the same way as security, usability, or performance, as a fundamental measure of product quality considered from the very first design decisions, not only shortly before launch.
We’re pleased that, through our cooperation with Business Accessibility Forum, this important topic became part of this year’s Ailleron Innovation Forum. We hope this marks the start of further joint initiatives and a long-term, productive partnership that will help us continue developing knowledge and best practices in digital accessibility across domestic and international markets.
